vtTA’s April Lunch & Learn presentation is a panel discussion on how tech and other entrepreneurs can find and obtain financing and capital investment for their business ventures. It features three of Vermont’s leading venture capital experts: Cairn Cross of FreshTracks Capital, Ken Merritt of Merritt & Merritt & Moulton and Vermont Venture Network, and Andrew Stickney with the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies. They will provide insight and share information and examples from their experience and respective organizations, covering areas such as venture capital, seed financing, later-stage expansion financing. Lunch is provided.

About the Speakers
Cairn Cross
Cairn Cross is a co-founder of FreshTracks Capital and serves as a Managing Director of the Fund. Cairn serves on the boards of FreshTracks portfolio companies Vermont Teddy Bear, NativeEnergy, Faraday and Budnitz Bicycles, and also is on the board of the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund and is a lecturer at the University of Vermont and Champlain College.
H. Kenneth Merritt, Jr.

Ken Merritt has more than 35 years of experience in general corporate and securities transactions, as well as the formation and governance activities of privately and publicly held companies, non-profit organizations, venture capital firms and financial institutions. He is a founding partner and managing director of Merritt & Merritt & Moulton, where he leads a transactional corporate practice with an emphasis on emerging growth companies. He founded the Vermont Venture Network in 1989, which brings together entrepreneurs, investors, and others involved in the entrepreneurial process for the purpose of stimulating the regional economy.
Andrew Stickney

Andrew Stickney is vice president of the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies. He has experience working on independent startups – both web based and retail – as well as sales and marketing for a Fortune 500 consumer packaged goods firm. Andrew is responsible for marketing and outreach, portfolio client services, and managing the Burlington and Middlebury Vermont facilities. He previously served as a Director of Client Programs, assisting incubator clients with marketing analysis, market segmentation, promotional material and strategic decision making.
