Vermont Systems Inc. (VSI), a leader in recreation management software and vtTA member, was joined by attendees from state and local agencies for a ribbon cutting and open house on May 31 at their facility in Essex Junction.

The event celebrated a year of growth for the company, which included significant hiring, construction of a two-story, solar-powered, energy efficient facility expansion, and product and service revitalization.

VSI’s core product offering, the RecTrac software system, is in use at facilities worldwide, handling a broad range of activities such as registering families for recreational programs, concessions at venues, signing up for fitness center memberships, and reserving tee times on golf courses.

“This is a very exciting point in VSI’s almost 35-year history,” says VSI President and CEO, Giles Willey. “Over the past year, we have increased our staff by almost 20 percent. At the same time, we have worked hard to streamline our operations, strengthen our product and service offerings, and refresh our brand’s identity. This effort has already provided significant benefits to all our customers, and we’ve just begun.”

The family-run, 100% employee-owned business employs over 100 software developers, quality assurance specialists and customer support experts. In 2018 and 2019, VSI was included on the annual list of the Best Places to Work in Vermont and was recognized with the 2018 Governor’s Excellence in Worksite Wellness Award.

Since 1985, VSI has provided its RecTrac and other recreational software programs and support service to a wide range of customers. Today, the company has over 1,100 customers including all branches of the military, municipalities, college campuses and private customers around the country, as well as several Parks and Recreation departments in Chittenden County.
